Thursday Things Vol. 11
This is one of those weeks that seems to have flown by. Work has been particularly busy and I have a few social commitments too (which is unusual because I tend to be a hermit). Here’s what I’m digging this week.
Podcast of the Week
I’m late to the game here, but I just started listening to Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. He doesn’t go as deep with his guests as my numero uno, Dax Shepard, but damn if it isn’t hilarious. I’ve only listened to a handful of episodes so far, but even the ads on this one are funny.
Delivery of the Week
Why is this even a topic here? Well, between the Nordstrom sale, ordering items for my daughter’s school uniform, diaper deliveries, redoing our bedroom and having a Prime membership, our porch has seen more than its fair share of cardboard boxes over the last few days. My favorite item though is the dresser that arrived on Tuesday.
Unfortunately one of the matching nightstands we ordered was delivered with one leg completely broken off, but it feels great to be making some progress on the bedroom.
Event of the Week
Last night I went with the Girl Boss Events team to check-out U-Cut Flowers at The Marmalade Lily. To call this place beautiful is such an understatement. Laura, the owner and mastermind behind The Marmalade Lily, gave us a tour of the grounds and event space and then we created our own bouquets. It was such a fun time with Kalyn, Crystal, Emily and Emily! If you’re near Cincinnati and looking for something fun to do, I can’t recommend this more highly. Another group there came PREPARED with tons of snacks and bottles of wine… which I will definitely bring with me to The Marmalade Lily next time 😉
Read of the Week
If you’ve ever tried to balance two things (especially work and family), this is for you.
Goal of the Week
This is long overdue, but my sleep habits are a mess. When I was reading Harry Potter, I would head up to bed by about 10 so I could read for an hour before falling asleep. Lately I’m staying up watching tv or working on my computer until after 11, which means I’m not turning in until midnight or after. This is fine every so often but it’s taking a toll. I am exhausted.
Time to get back to some good habits!
