Thursday Things Vol. 4
(Written while binge-watching Cougar Town. Grossly underrated show. Even my husband likes it.)
Read of the Week
It’s an oldie, but a staffer for Cosmo recreated ten quintessential Rachel Green outfits. I took another look at it this week… and there are a few that I would totally wear today! I have been staunchly anti-90s-fashion-resurgence, but maybe I’m relaxing my stance.
Song of the Week
“Cavatina” by Stanley Meyers—I’ve started playing this classical piece for my daughter at bedtime. It’s incredibly soothing and helps her settle at the end of the night.
Recipe of the Week
My husband celebrated his birthday this week and I made him his favorite dessert: Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies from Picky Palate. I’m not kidding when I say that I have received dozens of compliments from various people on these bad boys. If you decide to give these a try, I suggest using Madagascar vanilla and following the recipe EXACTLY. The cookies will be delicious regardless, but sometimes i just throw all the ingredients together at once, rather than mixing wet separately from dry and combining slowly, and they aren’t quite as perfect.
Quote of the Week
“Within me is a peacefulness that cannot be disturbed.”
Instagram of the Week
I love following @DIYPlaybook. Casey and Bridget have a really clean aesthetic and it’s fun seeing how they translate that in their different living spaces (downtown Chicago condo and suburban single-family home). They also seem like two really kind, genuine people. I’ve commented on a handful of posts and stories, and I think they’ve responded to me every single time! Absolutely worth checking out!
Here’s to the end of the work week—and have a great weekend!
