Thursday Things Vol. 5

Hey friends! It’s time for my weekly Thursday Things round-up.

Read of the Week

I could probably make Yes and Yes my read of the week, every week. I’m not sure how one person gets to be so insightful so consistently, but Sarah Von Bargen somehow is. This post about how to “Indiana Jones” your bad habits is so smart, practical, and doable!

Song of the Week

“Black Eyes” – Bradley Cooper from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born

Quote of the Week

“Honestly, I think about power as more of an internal phenomenon. I tend to think about empowerment for myself so that I have the courage and ability to act on the ideologies and priorities that resonate with me.” – Kerry Washington to Marie Claire

Coffee of the Week

One of my favorite coffee shops in Cincinnati is BLOC Coffee Company. They finally reopened in their new location this week and I couldn’t wait to check out the space. It’s beautiful, which I expected, but I had forgotten just how good the drinks are here too. The caramel latte was just what I needed on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon. The ambience is great too—very cozy and friendly.

Instagram of the Week

In honor of World Mental Health Awareness Day (which was yesterday), let’s talk @JenGotch. Jen is the founder of Ban.do and a passionate advocate for mental health. She is open, raw and honest about her life with bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. I am fortunate in that my issues with anxiety and depression are currently well-managed, but I really appreciate how authentic she is with her followers about her good days and bad.

Hope the rest of your week is calm and your weekend is restful!
