Fashion Favorites from the 2019 Emmy’s
As mentioned in essentially every post on this page, I love watching awards shows. The Emmy’s were last night and despite feeling exhausted from a busy day that randomly included carrying a solid wood table base around the neighborhood, I rallied and made it to 11:00.
There were plenty of what I’d consider to be “misses” but we’re only talking the good stuff here.
Zendaya in Vera Wang
Flawless. On it’s own I’m not sure I’d love the dress, but it’s incredible on her.
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
I think this is beautiful for a September event. I love how simple she kept her hair and jewelry. And most importantly, did you hear her speech? It was moving and empowering and important.
Susan Kelechi Watson in Badgley Mischka
There was an awful lot of pink + red on the carpet last night, and big sleeves seem to be a thing too. I thought this version was beautifully done.
Aidy Bryant
I thought this was so sweet and pretty. I have trouble imagining Aidy wearing something super elaborate and formal; this feels like an elevated version of her everyday look and I like that.
Catherine O’Hara in Greta Constantine
Holy smokes, I think this is fantastic. The color blocking is so flattering and totally on brand for Moira Rose. I love her hair and makeup too.
Clea DuVall
I love a good suit and this look is so sleek.
Angela Bassett in Antonio Grimaldi
I don’t feel like I can pull off the cool internet lingo, but if I could, I’d say this is a fierce lewk. Slay.
D’Arcy Carden in Romona Keveza
This is such a beautiful, classic look. The fit is impeccable.
Annie Murphy
I love navy blue. Sparkly navy blue is even better. I think Annie Murphy is beautiful and hilarious. I really like the slightly puffy shoulders too.
Daniel Levy
I don’t like brown, but my love for Dan Levy trumps my distaste for the color. I’m not sure what I think of the double-breasted jacket trend overall, but this is a really great suit. I think it’s perfectly tailored. He just looks so cool.
Mahershala Ali
I think Mahershala Ali makes my lists more often than not. The colors are just slightly out of the ordinary and the lapel pin is a unique touch.
Asante Blackk
That blue is electric. I love the stripe on the pants and the black shirt and tie.
Tony Hale
So I think this might be another brown suit. I don’t know what’s gotten into me. Regardless, I don’t think Tony Hale has ever looked better.
Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen
They look SO GOOD. This is how I imagine me and T in a few decades. And do you see how he’s looking at her?
Jason Bateman & Amanda Anka
I’m going to close with this image. My best dressed couple, hands down.
